Youdle (MEMPHIS, Tenn.) - Discount retailer Big Lots has revealed plans to shutter nearly 300 stores across the United States. This move comes as the company recently filed an SEC report indicating mounting financial pressures and declining sales. According to the company's website, at least 289 stores are slated for closure, representing almost 21% of Big Lots' nationwide presence. The closures will affect 36 states. Each store that is closing has a banner at the top of its local store page to alert shoppers of discounts.
